Our Mission

why we do what we do

An unseen force. There is something out there, calling. Just beyond that hill, over that ridge, down that valley. “I feel it in my bones.” Words that echo in the hearts of our founders.
A passion for the outdoors and thirst for adventure, a trek into the unknown, a curiosity to search out that place without boot prints. These are just some of the things that drive us.

Before our founders were old enough to hunt and fish for themselves, their fathers began sowing the seeds of what makes up the great outdoors. Those seeds have grown into the passion, love, and most importantly, respect; for the privilege of access to seek out these things which we hold most dear.

The crisp morning of opening day, the rush of the river beneath your feet, the smell of sagebrush in the desert sun, the call of the unseen wild; “I feel it in my bones.” Its that feeling that drives our founders forward, back to the wild. Will you join us?

our love for gear

We are outdoorsmen to the core. Each day we seek more knowledge, sharper skills, and better tools to aid us on our journey. Our tool-kits curated over multiple lifetimes; experiences handed down by our fathers, and father’s fathers. Today, we pass them on to those who heed the call.

The outdoor gear listed on these pages has been carefully chosen, tested, and re-tested. Our founders use these products themselves, or you would not find them here.

BLACKSMITHING

No one should doubt the value of a smith. The smith represents skill in craft and labor. Skilled trades such as blacksmithing have been a dying breed. Modernity has brought an end to many various skilled trades that were once prevalent during the industrialization of the American New World. The labor in our craft is done with hammer & anvil, and with each stroke we will lift our hammer again to forge a part of what is New World Outdoor Gear Co.

Blacksmithing runs through the veins of both the founders of this company. With the anvil passed down from one of our founder’s old family homestead in Eastern Oregon, we hone our craft. We use these skills, hard won and self taught, in the production of fine blades and tools that can be had no other way, the old way.
